Demo credits

Everything on the Home Stream demo server is free to share. This page says who made it, and under which licence.

The demo is there so you can try the apps before you set up a server of your own. Its library is built only from works in the public domain or under licences that allow them to be shared. Some of those licences ask for credit, and this page gives it. None of these works is endorsed by, or connected with, Home Stream.

The album covers were designed for this demo. The composers’ portraits are public domain by age: Chopin by Louis-Auguste Bisson (1849), Mendelssohn by Eduard Magnus (1846), Mozart by Barbara Krafft (1819), and photographs of Grieg and Dvořák from the late nineteenth century. Kimiko Ishizaka’s photograph is by RobertDouglass, from Wikimedia Commons, under CC BY-SA 3.0. The artist biographies are from Wikipedia, under CC BY-SA 4.0.

Home videos

The home videos belong to an invented family. The older reels are real home movies from the Prelinger Archives, and three of them need credit:

What we changed

Every video was re-encoded so a small server can stream it, usually to 1080p H.264 with stereo AAC. Each home video is a short excerpt, and some join two clips with a title card. Music was re-tagged so it groups into albums. Nothing was otherwise altered.

The Friends and Family portraits were made with an AI image generator and show no real person.

Pictures and descriptions

The posters, backgrounds, cast photos, episode pictures and descriptions come from TMDb, which the server asks for them, and the music details from MusicBrainz.

This product uses TMDB and the TMDB APIs but is not endorsed, certified, or otherwise approved by TMDB.
